BEGINNERS wins Academy Award!

Christopher Plummer, nominated for best supporting actor in 2010, received a standing ovation as he won the award at the 2012 Oscars for his role in Beginners.
Beginners, directed by Mike Mills, was shot on the RED ONE MX camera by cinematographer Kasper Tuxen.

This is the first film Offhollywood was worked on to win a Academy Award. Previously Academy Nominated projects the company worked on are Margin Call and Frozen River.
Independent Spirit Awards: ‘Margin Call’ A Double Winner

It was a good night for the cast and crew of Margin Call, with a double win at the Independent Spirit Awards.
A drama based in an investment bank over a 24-hour period of crisis, the film boasts an all-star cast, including Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Terence Howard, Paul Bethany, Simon Baker and Demi Moore.
The film’s director and writer J.C. Chandor told HuffPostUK that, while the Robert Altman award was no surprise, having been announced previously in December, winning the award for Best First Feature as well had come as a complete shock.”

Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender Explore an ‘Alien’ Landscape in an International ‘Prometheus’ Trailer (Video)

Twentieth Century Fox has released an international trailer for Prometheus, the studio’s upcoming science-fiction opus directed by Ridley Scott. Running almost a minute and a half in length, the clip offers a few new glimpses of the pre-Alien world Scott created within the film, and promises an epic-scale adventure.

Red Expects Digital Projector, 500 Hires This Year

A 3D projector from Irvine-based Red.com Inc.’s Red Digital Cinema Camera Co. will be made in Irvine and is expected to hit the market later this year.
The company expects to add about 500 jobs over the next year, with new hires ranging from accounting to assembly, according to Red founder Jim Jannard.
